Cumbria Cleaning
Terms & Conditions

The small print.

These terms apply when you book a clean with Cumbria Cleaning. They exist to keep things fair for you, for our team, and for everyone whose home or business we look after.

Last updated: April 2026

1. Quoting and acceptance

A quote submitted through cumbriacleaning.com is a request for a tailored estimate. We will be in touch with a personal quote the same working day.

By submitting the quote form and ticking the consent box, you agree to be contacted by us about your quote and you accept these terms and conditions.

A booking is confirmed once we have agreed a date, duration and price with you in writing (email, WhatsApp or text message).

2. How we bill

Cleans are billed in man-hours. If two cleaners attend for one hour, that is two man-hours. If one cleaner attends for three hours, that is three man-hours.

Our minimum booking is two man-hours per visit.

Final invoices are sent after the clean with simple bank transfer details. No deposit or card details are required to book.

3. Access to the property

Someone must be available to let the cleaners in, or arrangements for key or lock-box access must be confirmed in writing before the booking.

If our team cannot gain access to the property within ten minutes of arriving at the agreed time, they will leave and the full price of the clean will be charged.

4. Hot water and electricity

The property must have running hot water and working electricity available to the cleaning team for the duration of the visit.

If either is unavailable on arrival or is cut off during the visit, the cleaners will leave and the full price of the clean will be charged.

5. Cancellations and rescheduling

You can cancel or reschedule a confirmed booking at no cost as long as you give us at least 48 hours notice.

Cancellations or reschedules made with less than 48 hours notice are charged at the full price of the booked clean.

6. Lone worker and safety policy

For the safety of our team, we do not send a single cleaner alone to a property where a tenant or third party is present and unknown to us. Where a lone visit is booked, the property must either be empty or occupied only by the person who booked the clean.

Where the risk assessment for a visit changes, we reserve the right to send a second cleaner, reschedule the visit, or cancel the clean with a full refund if no work has taken place.

7. Abuse and harassment

We have a zero-tolerance policy on abuse or harassment of our cleaners, including verbal abuse, threats, sexual harassment, and any other conduct that makes a member of our team feel unsafe.

If this occurs before the clean has started, the booking will be terminated immediately and the full price of the clean will be charged.

If this occurs during the clean, or within 48 hours before the clean, the cleaners will leave and the full price of the clean will be charged. We may also decline future bookings from that customer.

8. Insurance and liability

Cumbria Cleaning is fully insured for public liability while carrying out contracted cleaning work.

Please inform us of any fragile, valuable or sentimental items that require special care before the clean begins. We recommend that very high-value or irreplaceable items are removed or secured ahead of the visit.

Any concern about damage must be reported to us within 24 hours of the clean so that we can investigate and resolve it fairly.

9. Equipment and products

Our cleaners arrive fully equipped. If you would prefer us to use products you already have at home, let us know in your quote notes and we will accommodate where possible.

We do not provide ironing or laundry as standalone services. Linen changes and bed-making as part of a clean are included on request.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page at the time of your booking.
